[ The vibe of this is an 8 AM Stand-Up Meeting rather than a gathering of guardians. The video's pov is from his lab, which in addition to the completed gigacomputer, was beginning to have half-finished little magitech doohickeys scattered in sparse nooks of free space. The amount of spiderbots seems to have been left at one (1) so far.]

Second: Current Projects. Anyone who's a friend to reindeer - you ought to talk to Phil and do him a solid for all the holiday prep. For the science nerds lurking around, I’d like to borrow your brains over here.

[ He'd normally have Lyla take care of this, but he's stuck with non-sentient computers. He hates it! ]

Last: Introductions for the new kids. And universe number, if your world has one of those - the chalkboard maps are getting digitized. I'll start.

My name is Miguel O'Hara, Spider-Man of Nueva York. No, they aren't vampire fangs. [ tired hand wave, as if recapping for the millionth time. ] I‘ve been mopping up messes in my neck of the multiverse until getting picked for fairy-tale duty with the rest of you.

[Just when Rex was thinking over Miguel's suggestions, he spots two things he doesn't like.

1. That spider-bot, for personal reasons
2. Boba, also for personal albeit different reasons.

And Rex suppresses a sigh. His lips thin instead. When he does communicate, it's to Miguel though if Boba happens to somehow hear-- Rex isn't going out of his way to talk to him. He's not breaking his word.

But surely Miguel must have some idea that there's a feral child former bounty Hunter a-- uh-- Boba, behind him. Right?]

The name's Rex. Former Captain of the Grand Republic Army, if you don't already know.

[Yeah, there might have been a subtle blink-and-you-miss-it, look Boba's way.]

Looks like you've volunteered yourself for storing all of this material. Will everyone have access? Some mission debriefs might have to be on a need to know basis.

[ Woah, okay. This guy looks eminently related to Lucky, and yet the kid did not mention him once the few months they've been here? Miguel stares for a second while this realization hits him, but then finds the words to keep it from getting too awkward. ]

The goal is a database to pool our information, but it should be simple enough to secure what needs to be kept private...

[ unaware that Rex is persona-non-grata, he points to the kid behind him, then back to Rex. ]

Are you two...?

[ Nephew and Uncle? Weird siblings? Clones? (He can't count out the clones, he's dealt with Kaine and Ben Reilly and countless others.) ]

[Boba scoots out of frame, spider-bot held protectively against his chest.
Once he can't be seen by the camera, he speaks.]

I don't even know him.

He knows me well enough to steal my blaster.

[The words are mostly calm but there's an undeniable trace of annoyance. Overall though his expression is confident and neutral. While Rex and Boba share the same looks- aside from the hair- their demeanor is miles apart.]

We are both clones of Jango Fett. I was trained to serve the Republic. He was raised not. We don't agree about what that makes our personal relationship. I've been respecting his request to leave him alone, but I wanted to hear more about these projects.

[Did he perhaps find a way around that request? Well, Rex did learn from the best about exploiting loopholes.]

[Boba doesn't wait for Miguel's response. Rex says the words "Jango Fett" and he's out of the room in a flash, spider-bot left on the floor behind him.]

Yeah, he does that.

[ Miguel deals with such absurd stakes on the regular that stealing a gun or knife falls around 'The Spot failing to burgle a bodega'-level of mischief. ]

Kid, did you give the blaster back...?

[ he hears Catalina chitter with concern as the spiderbot scuttles in the direction Boba ran off to, but stops at the door. She has yet to explore outside the lab. Miguel seems sympathetic, brows furrowed with worry. Geez - way to screw it up there, Rex. ]

[Boba's sudden disappearance earns a full fledged sigh from Rex. Now that he's gone, Rex's expression shifts to one of disappointment-- and concern and this time he can't quite wipe it all from his face.]

I took it back.

[And Rex has no idea what to add to that so he just stares at the spiderbot for a moment, frowning.]

I shouldn't have mentioned his father.

[ninjavampire]

[ very sardonically:]

You think? It's kind of a sensitive subject.

[ But he gets back to business. Lucky will come back around when he wants to. Chasing him down isn't going to fix anything. ]

Well, let's go over the basics. Been on any missions recently? Any encounters with Kuk and the gang?

[not here]

[Boba will not be coming back.]

I'm glad he's talked about it with someone.

[Right back at you, Miguel.

But Rex switches back to his "Captain" voice in the next breath brisk, confident, and each word spoken clearly.]

Not yet. I'll let you know when that changes. Wish I could offer you more intel.

That's a generous way of putting it.

[ Lucky was a kid of few words. ]

Keep me posted. Intel on the big threat to the multiverse is kind of an important one.
